You may have seen us on tour with bands such as Jinjer, The Birthday Massacre, Nonpoint, The Butcher Babies, Fozzy, Alien Ant Farm, The 69 Eyes, Devilskin & more! We have released "Lost in Cyco City" in 2014 and "Opus Mar" in 2017, NOW we are excited to announce "INITIATION" in 2021! The album’s title, Initiation, stems from wanting to invite the audience to be “initiated” into our world. There are usually two congruent themes to each of our albums – one is real-world inspiration, and the other is “Cyco City”, a comic book-esque alternate universe where all our music videos take place. With Initiation, we introduce four gangs or clubs. Our music videos for Initiation all include a theme of these clubs – whether it’s gang vs. gang, a forbidden love between opposing sides, or the idea of having to choose where you belong.  Outside of the story, the lyrics relate to the polarization of the world we live in now. We all have a longing to belong, but what makes one feel accepted or ostracized from a group? To be INITIATED, would you be willing to try to understand another point of view? I have always written lyrics about internal struggle, the war within oneself. Throughout the album, we bounce back and forth between struggle and overcoming. It reflects the times, and there are moments that seem a bit dark.”

Black Satellite is a rock duo from NYC comprised of Larissa Vale and Kyle Hawken.  Having been writing music together for several years, Black Satellite is the culmination of a deep-rooted partnership contributing to their unified writing style.      Shortly after launching their first single Valkyrie from their full-length album Endless,  Black Satellite was requested as support for Starset at NYC’s Gramercy Theatre on the strength of their debut.  Their follow up single Blind premiered on ibobi Radio and was subsequently featured on Alternative Press via their discover playlist.  Black Satellite was also named one of Alternative Press’ “12 Bands You Need To Know” in a print issue of the magazine.      Billboard describes the album as "the end point one might arrive at after listening to all of Muse’s catalog and deciding they just weren’t epic enough."      Endless paints an almost cinematic landscape, with every song progressing into the next revealing a new facet of the duo’s style and complexity.  This lends itself to a well-crafted tonal arc that is sure to satisfy.       Black Satellite subsequently released two cover songs paying tribute to Type O Negative, which charted on metal radio.       The band recently concluded writing and recording their sophomore record, Aftermath, mixed by veteran producer Ben Grosse (Marilyn Manson, Breaking Benjamin, Filter). Release date to be announced. Their new single Void is the first taste of the brand new album. Knotfest commenting on the track: “the first single offers a glimpse into the bold, stylishly dark sound that has made the duo of Larissa Vale and Kyle Hawken such a promising prospect.”        In 2021, they released a cover of Rammstein’s “Sonne” to critical acclaim with Revolver Magazine describing the track as “a masterclass in metal covers.”        Black Satellite recently completed back-to-back tours as direct support for John 5, Fozzy, and Nita Strauss in Fall/Winter 2021/2022, with additional appearances at Metal In The Mountains Fest and Blue Ridge Rock Fest. Black Satellite heads back out on tour in March 2022 with Cold. Additional tour dates TBA.
