W.T. Snacks and DJ HYPE☆GIRL both got their start with rhythm gaming, like most people, through DDR in the early 2000's. Getting into DJing on terrestrial radio long before he found Bemani, W.T. Snacks later moved to internet radio in 2005 and started a weekly podcast named “Midnight Snacks”. Meanwhile, DJ HYPE☆GIRL (Illustration pen name Beck Attack) randomly found a Pop'n Music machine in a Dave & Busters and immediately fell in love with its cute art style. In 2015, they collaborated together on a Pop’n Music-themed live show for the Midnight Snacks 10 Year Anniversary event in NYC with illustrations by Beck Attack and the event lineup curated by W.T. Snacks.
In 2016, W.T. Snacks and DJ HYPE☆GIRL joined forces musically and made their back-to-back DJ debut at Orlando, Florida's premiere Japanese music and idol event Kira Kira Pop. Since 2017, they've been taking the convention scene by storm, making their debut convention appearance headlining at Colossalcon and opening for YUC'e at galaxxxy's 10 year anniversary party during Anime Expo. Later that year, they made their first international appearance in Kobe, Japan under the b2b moniker SNACK ATTACK. 2018 brought about many more convention and club appearances with multiple solo and b2b sets at Anime Expo sub-headlining alongside Moe Shop and Grimecraft, and headlining together as SNACK ATTACK at San Japan in Austin and Holiday Matsuri in Orlando. Halfway into 2019 and SNACK ATTACK has already sub-headlined at Sakuracon in Seattle and most recently opened for UK hardcore/Drum’n’Bass producer TANUKI and m-flo, one of Japan’s largest DJ/rap groups, at Otaquest + Attack The Music’s SYNERGY rave at Anime Central in Chicago.
SNACK ATTACK are all-mix DJs to the extreme and love to play as many genres as possible, with inspirations coming from all forms of media - from international netlabels to anime, often focusing on underground music from Japan’s bustling club and doujin music scene. W.T. Snacks enjoys showcasing the breadth of his musical knowledge in his DJing style with it carrying over into SNACK ATTACK as they drop a multitude of genres: reckless rave, panic pop, warp house, future club, and hybrid twerk, to irregular hi-break, candy hypercore, nu-style festival sound and underground international netstyle. Always looking towards the future while taking inspiration from the past, expect a journey through sound that will move your body like no other... You'll definitely be hungry for more after SNACK ATTACK eats up the dancefloor!
