For the handful of unfortunate folks unfamiliar with 'Sublime' the legendary band for whom these
three play tribute to masterfully, heres a little bit of back story. Sublime was an
American ska punk and reggae rock band from Long Beach, California, formed in 1988.
The band was made up of three friends and a Dalmatian: Bradley Nowell (vocals and
guitar), Eric Wilson (bass) Bud Gaugh (drums) and Lou Dog, (Nowell's Dalmatian). While the band had a huge cult following with their 1992 release of 40oz To
Freedom and the 1994 release of Robbin the Hood, they did not see commercial success until after the death of lead singer, Nowell, who died of a heroin overdose in 1996.
Sublime's self-titled third album, released two months after Nowell's
death, peaked at number 13 on the Billboard 200, and spawned the single "What I Got", which remains the band's only number one hit single (on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart) in their musical career.Sublime has sold over 17 million albums worldwide, including over 10 million in the U.S. alone.
So like Sublime, Danny Lopilato (vocals/guitar), Benji Hamlin (bass) Chris Chamberlain (drums) are
longtime friends in Southern California with similar passion and life view as the original. But if you go to a  SUBLIMED show you are not just going to listen to a Tribute Band, you are going to a SUBLIMED Concert! You are going to experience your Sublime favorites but most importantly you will have one of the best nights in your life. This Aug. 9th Show at the Coach House also FEATURES Corn Doggy Dog & the 1/2 pound which is fronted by Todd “Zman” Zalkins. Todd is a well-known stand up comic, was the master of ceremonies of many Sublime shows and was the star of the bands video for “Date Rape”. The Radical Left consists of members of bands including Falling Idols, The Decline, Varth, and Capitol Eye. Sublime covered their theme song, Falling Idols, bassist Randy Bradbury is currently the bass player for Pennywise, and vocalist David Quackenbush is the singer of the Vandals.
To round out the evening we are graced with the Skatanic Rednecks and the Rubba Band Band.
SUBLIMED"s Aug. 9th Concert at the Coach House will be the Reggae/Ska/Punk Show of the year. It is expected to SELL OUT.
