    As indie pop-rock makes its return to the forefront of popular music, Golden Cats has emerged as one of the genre's most closely watched acts. Blending nostalgic alternative rock with infectious pop songwriting and a whimsical, story-driven universe, the duo has amassed more than 20 million streams and nearly 200,000+ followers across platforms in just their first year; building their career in partnership with artist incubator Not a Label.

     

    Vocalist Laura Dalla ("Black Cat Girl") and drummer/producer Kyle Lenski ("Retriever Boy") have built far more than a band—they've created a world. Their growing community of fans, affectionately known as the "Kittens," has become deeply invested not only in the music, but in the characters, lore, and optimism that define the Golden Cats universe.

     

    Entirely self-contained, Golden Cats writes, produces, records, and mixes every song from their bedroom studio. Before forming the band, Laura launched her career as a solo artist through a joint venture with Universal Music Group, while Kyle spent years touring as a drummer and built an audience of more than 2 million followers through his viral drumming videos. The pair first met while rehearsing for another band, where a child remarked that, with Laura’s long black hair and Kyle’s golden locks, they had "Black Cat Girl" and "Retriever Boy" energy—a moment that would ultimately inspire the name Golden Cats.

     

    What began as an offhand observation has grown into one of indie pop-rock's fastest-rising projects. With a devoted fan community, an unmistakable visual identity, and a fully independent creative process, Golden Cats is proving that artists can build an immersive world every bit as compelling as the music itself.
