Stéphane Wrembel will explore every aspect of the guitar, from the most intimate and intricate sounds to the most explosive and virtuosic possibilities. He brought to America the distinctive style of Django Reinhardt, pioneering what is now known as “Gypsy Jazz.” Beyond his mastery of this tradition, he has integrated the vernacular genres of American and world music — from jazz and rock to the sounds of India and Africa, and the haunting, mysterious tones of the Middle Eastern oud.
