Specialists feel that their new single, Down N’
Out is their most polished release yet.
Forming as just a producer and guitar duo, the
group has developed into a full fledged rock
band. But, their roots are still in the duo when
it comes to writing and recording. However,
Down N’ Out has taken a different approach
to their recording and writing style. In the past
they have run with the “do it yourself”
mentality when it comes to recording, mixing
and mastering, but on this one they have
branched out to new engineers and players to
make this track much different from the rest of
their music.
Down N’ Out was written at guitarist Will Harden’s house in Staten Island thanks to
Mikey’s portable recording setup. The majority of the tracking was done there with some
touch ups being filled in later. This song captures just about everything you need to know
about the Specialists. It has a funk groove, crunchy guitars, whaling synths, deep pocket,
and features both Mikey and Will on vocals. It couldn't be a better summary of the group.
This will be the bands final release before their upcoming EP later this year. Down N’ Out
will be available on all major streaming platforms on April 17th, 2020. Be sure to give
them a follow on Spotify and Instagram so you never miss a new release or jam video.

Modern Instincts
Modern Instincts
Alternative Rock
Modern Instincts is an alternative rock band based out of Upstate New York. Originally starting as a solo project by singer/guitarist Jason Tuori, the production from Jesse Gillenwalters (Basic Printer) and input from live band members Sam Roux (Atkins Riot, BSG, Chiggin), Tom Powers, Ryan Cogswell, and Emily Ormsby grew a collaborative effort. To follow-up to the band’s debut album “Desiderata”, Tuori enlisted R. Aaron Walters (Early Bird Trio) for production. The result was “Alchemy EP”, a theatrical and ambitious record with roots in baroque and guitar rock.
