Pijama Piyama began in 2019 as an imaginary collective of desert degenerates known as "El
Grupo Afrutado". After a short period as a solo experimental project, Pijama Piyama transitioned
into a full ensemble with members; Jonathan Saillant, Pablo Bastidas, Jeanine Salmeron, Mert
Salahi, Ben Wise and Chris Del Favero. Inspired by Cumbia, Salsa, Frank Zappa and the world
of psychedelia, their music aims to capture a playful amalgamation that spawns a synergy—a
cheeky collision of tangible past and pixelated present.
The band’s diverse sonic palette and infectious energy has brought them success performing
alongside local and touring acts such as Tropa Magica, Son Rompe Pera, Cimba Funk,
Levitation Room, the Mauskavik Dance Band, Phoenix AfroBeat Orchestra and more. Three
years into the bands formation they have released their first full album “Pijama Piyama y Los
Niños De Rana, two Eps and their first vinyl record titled “Pijama Piyama EXCLUSIVO”

Conceptualized in 2016, this 7 piece known as The Hellas, hail from the heart of a punk rock mecca; The East Bay Area, specifically Hayward California. Combining rhythm and sounds from punk, ska, reggae, soul, & cumbia, The Hellas encapsulate the culturally diverse west coast vibe with non-stop, heart pumping, floor stomping jams! Building on traditional grooves and pockets, they are pushing the boundaries of tones and waves. Their unique sound has grown from its underground roots to this genre bending band of homies known as The Hellas!
