Jeremy Kennedy's Sacred Medicine
Psychedelic
Sacred Medicine (formerly the Rattlesnake Trio) is a psychedelic/rock/blues power trio rooted in the Indigenous communities of upstate New York, with members representing the Onondaga and Oneida Nations. Formed in late 2023 on the Onondaga Nation, just south of Syracuse NY, the band carries both the weight of tradition and the fire of modern improvisation.
At the center is guitarist Jeremy Kennedy (Oneida Nation), whose virtuosic playing channels the spirits of Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Kennedy's signature “sound-sculpting” technique allows him to pivot from explosive, high-energy solos to sweeping ambient soundscapes — creating an immersive, meditative journey for the audience.
Anchoring the trio are bassist Charlie Huff and drummer Lenny Printup, both Onondaga Nation tribal members and seasoned veterans of the upstate NY music scene. Together, the three forge a blues-infused psychedelic groove that is as powerful as it is transcendent.
In 2024, Sacred Medicine performed at the prestigious NYS Blues Festival, sharing a stage with rock legends Little Feat. In 2026, the band’s star continued to rise when Jeremy Kennedy received the Brian Bourke Best New Artist Award at the Syracuse Area Music Awards (SAMMYs). The band is currently preparing their debut studio album, expected later in 2026.
