SORY, & IBRAHIMA are from the Yeli caste (also called Djeli or Griot). MOHAMED AND AGATHE were raised in a Yeli tradition by their parents. A ‘Yeli’ is a ‘living archive’ of the African people's traditions. They all grew up learning their traditional music and dance from their parents and elders and are recognized as storytellers and keepers of knowledge that has been passed down through countless generations.

Jeff Coffin is a globally celebrated saxophonist, composer, educator, and is recognized for his breathtaking, enigmatic compositions, and searing improvisations. He is a member of the renowned American rock band Dave Matthews Band, but you may also recognize him from his 14-year run with Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, which included winning three GRAMMY® Awards.
Coffin is celebrating his label's first GRAMMY®-nominated song after having over 20 solo releases (and 45+ overall)—an astounding accomplishment for the seasoned woodwind performer!
Additionally, Jeff is a professor at the esteemed Vanderbilt University, the author of several music books, a children's book, and a producer, engineer, mixer, and artist. Jeff is also well-known for his musical passion, his unwavering commitment to music education, and his devotion to improvisational music. -
