Dusan, AKA St. Saudade (pronounced sou-dah-jay, Saint for short), is a Caribbean-American, Washington, D.C. born and raised open format DJ, beatmaker, remixer, and all-around music collector and selector.
Falling in love with listening to and sharing music amongst friends and his local community in high school, Saint decided to try out DJing as a way to step out of teenage introversion with encouragement from his best friend. Starting as a teenage DJ mentee under DJ RBI in 2013-2014 at Washington, D.C. based non-profit Words, Beats and Life, he was exposed to and fell in love with everything from old school American hip-hop to the beginning of the ATL trap music wave to the electronic club music from across the water at clubs like Fabric in the UK. After graduating high school in 2017, he moved down to Atlanta, Georgia, and began to pursue working in music after being given the tools and encouragement to be able to while enrolled at Morehouse College. Over the next four years, he worked in various capacities in the music industry as an in-house and traveling DJ, briefly as studio intern with LVRN, on-campus DJ, song remixer, creative organizer, and even briefly co-running an online college radio show with peers. After taking a two year long pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, personal development, and graduating college in 2021, he moved to Seattle, Washington for a fresh start and to experience the West Coast. Since then, he’s begun DJing again around the city of Seattle, collaborating with DJs like Kween Kaysh and Calico while aiming to connect with and experience the creative scene overall. His end goal? To continue to take in, expand, and share positive energy around music and the arts, be in and grow community around dope music and good times, continue to refine his skill as an open format DJ, and do his best to be authentically himself as he continues to grow in and navigate this space. “Good luck, stay out the way, take your time, and do your best.”
