“The unstoppable funk hip hop dance party.” From underground shows to international festivals, Sophistafunk has become known as “the hip hop band for the jam band fan (-Live for Live Music).” Featured as house band on several Food Network television shows, the band’s iconic friendship with legendary chef Guy Fieri has led to wild opportunities through the years. But from Hollywood to their home in Syracuse NY, Sophistafunk remains committed to their formula vintage tones, funky beats, mind-expanding flows, and powerful positive vibes. That’s why each Sophistafunk performance , often with a variety of special guests, is truly a celebration of what makes live music so great. 

We are a new experimental jam band on the scene, we are a five piece band pertaining of drums, bass, keys, guitar and saxophone. We bring together the essence of funk, jazz and rock together to write original music along side with playing covers from some of our favorite artist. We are not afraid to use live improvisation to get experimental in the jams and to create etherial sound scapes.
