Description
Join Bible teacher, best-selling author, and podcast host Lisa Harper for: Back Porch Theology's "Misfits and a Manger" Christmas Tour! Then get ready to laugh hard, learn fresh truths from Scripture, and lean more fully into the unconditional love of God because she's bringing their wildly popular and extremely engaging podcast experience to a city near you, LIVE, and in person!
Lisa's overjoyed to be teamed up on this tour with her incredible BPT co-host, author and master storyteller Allison Allen, as well as with their spiritual big brother and captain of redemptive shenanigans, pastor and seminary professor, Dr. Jim Howard. And the three of them are effectively peeling back the "professional BPT" curtain so that you can not simply observe the redemptive shenanigans that take place when these three spend time together, but we warmly invite you to hurl yourself into this special Christmas-themed evening of honest, heartfelt, and often hilarious stories, as well a few deep dives into what the Bible reveals about Immanuel.
Whether you've been a Christ-follower for a long time or simply find yourself curious about the claims of Christianity during the holiday season, we hope you'll walk away with fresh awe about Jesus's incarnation, and we're already praying that some of you precious ~ albeit weary and perhaps even disillusioned image bearers will actually meet Jesus for the first time through faith during this substantive but decidedly unstuffy event.

From her kindergarten stage debut as a bovine to performing one-woman pieces with Women of Faith, Allison Allen has always relished the power of story, the thrill of walking in the shoes of others and watching from the wings as Jesus brings His followers more fully to life.
After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in Acting, Allison Allen landed on Broadway in the revival of "Grease” and stayed there for almost two years. Following her tenure of 650 performances, the hand-jive from Rydell High still graces her dreams.
Currently, she has the joy of teaching at conferences around the country, and wing-womaning Lisa Harper on the popular podcast, Back Porch Theology.
She is a nationally published author of three books and one Bible study: Shine: Stepping into the Role You Were Made For; Thirsty for More: Discovering God’s Unexpected Blessings in a Desert Season; Seen, Secure, Free, and Hidden: Finding Delight in Your Life with Christ.
On a personal note, Allison is married to a good and handsome man with whom she can wear heels. This is no small feat, as Allison resides at 5’12”. Jonathan is a worship pastor, and together they have two delightful sons: Levi and Luke.
