Social Animals
-
After flash-driving a booking agency's venue roster and creating a fake agent over email, northern Minnesota alt-rock outfit Social Animals toured for 300 days a year on self booked runs before eventually finding their voice and inking a deal with Rise Records for their self-titled debut record. Social Animals joined Dashboard Confessional, All American Rejects, Moon Taxi, and labelmates Angels & Airwaves as direct support for U.S. tour dates, followed by a European run with Ash.
The band entered this new moment of sound with their single 'Adults' charting at #10 on Amazon Music's Top 100 Alternative songs of 2021. The anthemic new single was the band's latest offering since their string of critically acclaimed tracks last year — "Bad Things," "Best Years," and "Get Over It" — released via a limited edition 7" to widespread praise from Billboard, Flaunt, American Songwriter, Sirius XM's Alt Nation, The Current, Triple J, Clash, Dork, Upset, and more.
With their graceful collision of jittery rhythms, moody synth tones, and luminous guitar lines, the Duluth, Minnesota-bred band stayed active during the pandemic, writing new music and curating performances for live streams on Earmilk, Bandsintown, Dork's Homeschool Festival and more. The band released their debut album Social Animals in the summer of 2022, and since then it has quickly become a critic and fan favorite, amassing millions of streams across all platforms.
The band is set for a huge 2024, releasing a string of new singles, starting with the nostalgic track "Way Off Here," and following with the isolated midwestern anthem "Blacking Out." They will round it off with a third single in the summer, releasing another limited edition 7" record — completely independently with promising local Minnesota vinyl company Outta Wax. They are announcing multiple major U.S. tours in the fall to bolster their constant supply of new and exciting music.
