Cilantro is a alt-indie rock band from San Francisco, CA formed around the songs of singer/guitarist Mars Wagner. Her songs are requiems of memory, drawing upon experiences with love, beach cliffs, and magnolias. With heart-on-sleeve lyrics and swooning melodies, Cilantro offers its neck for the relentless romantic.  Mars cut her teeth in the Allston, MA diy scene after stumbling upon her first house show in 2021. From there she was inspired by diy emo bands such as Dino Gala and Raavi, whose influences can be heard tucked softly beneath her more delicate arrangements. The early days of playing solo shows in dirty basements grew into a full band. Now backed by a rhythm section and a violist, Cilantro’s live sets now embody the comforting crunch of indie-rock layered with melodic strings. For fans of Cryogeyser, Angel Olsen, and Alice Phoebe Lou, Mitski, Evil Adeline, Horse Jumper of Love, and early Death Cab for Cutie, Cilantro is for you.
