  • Sheryl Underwood

    Stand-up

Sheryl P. Underwood is an Emmy Award-winning television host, stand-up comedian, producer, and philanthropist whose career spans more than three decades at the intersection of entertainment, education, and community service.

As Founder and CEO of Pack Rat Productions, Inc. and the Pack Rat Foundation for Education (PRFFE), she has built an enterprise dedicated to elevating voices, supporting HBCUs, and connecting communities through culture. Her newest venture, Sheryl Underwood’s Great American Talent Search, is a national family-friendly competition launching at the Juneteenth Freedom Festival (Lake Charles, June 2026) — a scalable, co-branded activation platform built for corporate and civic partnership.

A 5-time Daytime Emmy Award winner and the longest-running co-host of CBS’s The Talk, Underwood commands one of the most loyal and diverse audiences in daytime television. She returned to daytime in March 2026 as guest co-host on ABC’s The View and is set to headline Netflix Is A Joke Fest (May 2026). She currently headlines the I Need a Job! national comedy tour with comedic colleague Kyle Erby. Film credits include Bulworth (1998), Beauty Shop (2005), and I Got the Hook-Up (1998).

As the 23rd International President of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. — the only full-time entertainer to hold the position — Underwood led a network with a presence on every HBCU campus in America. An Ambassador for the Bayou Classic and national spokesperson for Procter & Gamble’s HBCU Divine Nine Challenge, she operates at the heart of Black athletic and academic life. Sheryl Underwood negotiated a Sprite Step Off partnership, the nation's premier HBCU step competition and was instrumental in bringing all female National Pan-Hellenic Council presidents together for a landmark feature in Essence Magazine. Her philanthropic alliances include the UNCF, March of Dimes, American Diabetes Association, NAACP (as Membership Ambassador), and the Tom Joyner Foundation.

A recipient of five Honorary Doctorates of Humane Letters, the UNCF Masked Award, the NAACP Image Award, and the People’s Choice Award, Underwood’s honors reflect a career of excellence both on and off the stage. She has served as national spokesperson for both Metamucil and Depend. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force and a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, she is a connector — someone who uses humor, storytelling, and media to build platforms that amplify voices and drive commerce.
