Soul'd Out Presents: Sharada Shashidhar with Omari Jazz
Doors: 7:00pm
Show: 8:00pm
Ages 21+.
Sharada Shashidhar is a Los Angeles based vocalist, composer & producer. Her soulful voice takes inspiration from jazz and Indian classical music, which influences her songwriting and productions. Shashidhar’s elaborate harmonies and vocal creativity come together in a new beat-orientated spiritual jazz. Sharada has performed across the US and EU in spaces such as Le Guess Who? Festival, Badehaus Berlin, JHL @ SFJAZZ, Public Records, Solar Myth, Zebulon and more. She has shared bills or collaborated with the likes of Nightmares on Wax, Pan Afrikan People’s Arkestra, and Zeroh among others. Sharada graduated from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC and released her debut EP, Rahu (Leaving Records) in March of 2020. Her 2024, Soft Echoes (Leaving Records) was named in the Top 10 Jazz Albums of the year by Gilles Peterson and Worldwide.FM.
Her latest album, A Foot on the Ground, is out now via Colorfield Records, and features guest appearances from Benny Bock, Mark Guiliana, Caleb Buchanan, Timothy Angulo, and Devin Daniels. That album has received praise by We Jazz, MOJO, FLOOD Magazine, & more. Bandcamp Daily shared that the work was "both challenging and graceful, provocative and comforting, the clear work of a virtuoso-level talent who wants to unlock the unconscious part of her brain."

Omari Jazz: Omari Jazz is a composer, producer, and visual artist based in Portland, Oregon. He broke through in 2020 with his debut Dream Child, a thirteen-track exploration of ritual and the collective subconscious, which Bandcamp's editorial staff named one of the most immersive beat tapes in recent memory. In 2024, he and Contour released Black Decelerant on RVNG Intl., a duo record exploring Black being and non-being through spiritual jazz and idiosyncratic electronic production, drawing coverage from The Wire, MOJO, and Bandcamp Daily. His credits include remixes for Hiatus Kaiyote and Son Lux, collaborations with Salami Rose Joe Louis, Kiefer, and Rob Araujo, and composition for screen, most notably the award-winning documentary Gaining Ground: The Fight for Black Land and Metro Boomin's Heroes & Villains. With each project, Jazz invites listeners into carefully built sonic worlds that linger long after the music stops.
