Description
Shake It For The Leaves: A Benefit for the Homeless Remembrance Project
Featuring spoken word poetry by Anitra Freeman, and musical performances by Killing Caesar, Nostrep and Whiskey Voodoo
on Wednesday, March 11th
The Homelessness Remembrance Project places bronze leaves in memory of our unhoused neighbors—work that rehumanizes people who have been abandoned and neglected, and fights for a world in which no one has to sleep outside. Since 2003, this project — a collaborative effort of homeless women, faith community leaders, designers, artists, social service providers and other friends—has worked to create places of hope, healing, and beauty to honor and remember homeless people who’ve died in King County.
