Hudson Macready
Hudson Macready
Country
Hudson’s love for music was seen at a very early age. He and his father traveled the country to see every major artist who inspired him. This included legends like Willie Nelson, Amos Lee, Gary Clark Jr., Marcus King, Buddy Guy, Jason Isbell, David Gray, and Dave Matthews, whose music left a lasting impact on Hudson. This passion led to remarkable experiences, including playing guitar on stage with Buddy Guy at just 10 years old and, at 12, posting a video of himself performing “Here on Out” by Dave Matthews Band. The video caught Dave’s attention, and he invited Hudson backstage after a concert for a memorable conversation about music and life. At 17, Hudson wrote “Better Man,” inspired by witnessing his great uncle’s journey through alcoholism, divorce, and eventual sobriety and remarriage. The song resonated deeply with fans, gathering nearly a million views and connecting with listeners who shared similar experiences.
Hudson Macready just released his 2nd song and like" Better man" (his 1st release) it will not disappoint. Hudson wrote this song when he was one of the top 3 picks to play Woody Harrelson as a 16 yr old in the upcoming prequel to Hunger Games. He was really trying to study the character and get in his head so he thought what better then to write a song about it! He didn't end up getting the role but he did come out of it with an amazing song. After he wrote the song he met a great mentor in one of the biggest writers in Nashville Scooter Carusoe aka Travis Hill. Travis has wrote 20 #1 hits and is very passionate about Hudson's music. Scooter helped polish up "Risa Again" and the rest is history.
“Rise Again” is told from the perspective of a guy watching the girl he loves leave for the city to chase something bigger. He’s heartbroken but hopeful, knowing she needs to go. The rising sun becomes a symbol of that hope — a reminder that each new day brings the chance she might come back home.
Hudson has also expanded into acting, with a recurring role on ABC’s top-rated show High Potential, where he plays the boyfriend of the protagonist’s daughter. Balancing music and acting, Hudson is committed to telling stories that resonate with people, whether on screen or through his songs.
From his unique upbringing to his journey in the arts, Hudson Macready has made a meaningful impact in each field he’s pursued, inspiring others through his genuine passion and creativity.
