"SUPERSTAR POP ARTIST FROM JAPAN PURSUES HIS LOVE OF JAZZ
IN NEW PHASE OF HIS MUSICAL CAREER, NOW HERE IS "SENRI OE
TRIO" IN HAWAII"
With his 5th Jazz album “Boys & Girls,” Senri's connects the distinct eras in his career as a former Japanese superstar artist in the J-Pop arena, and his current career as a jazz artist. In “Boys and Girls” Senri brings fresh jazz energy by re-imagining some of his classic pop hits from the '80s and '90s, and it reflects a limitless creative future in the genre he has embraced since he shifted gears and moved to New York to study jazz in 2008.
The title of his Re-debut album "Boys Mature Slow" in 2012 means it literally. He opened the 2nd chapter’s door of his life. His love for jazz has spun the wheel in his 4th album "Answer July" in 2017 dedicated to legendary jazz artists, Sheila Jordan & Joe Hendricks. In this album. Lauren Kinhan(New York Voices)(vox&Lyrics), Theo Bleckmann(vox), and Becca Stevens(vox) as next and next-next generation of Sheila & Jon have joined in singing and writing lyrics with Senri’s melody.
A Multi-Faceted Japanese singer, songwriter, actor, and radio & TV host, Senri is the recipient of Japanese Grammy, topped the Billboard charts, headlined stadium, performed on TV soap operas, and had his hits used for major Japanese TV commercials. Now Senri, a real New Yorker, often performs at jazz venues all over U.S. such as Tomi Jazz, Zinc Bar, Jazz Gallery, Soho House, Smalls, Blue Note New York, City Winery, Jazz at Kitano(NYC), PianoForte(Chicago), Regatta Bar(Boston), Vitello's(LA), Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, Blues Alley(DC), Atlanta Jazz Festival 2017, Detroit Jazz Festival 2018 and lots more with his dynamic jazz style.
