Description
Seedstock is back for our 14th year of celebrating the music of Central New York and beyond. From rock to blues, folk to funk, and many points in between, we'll feature some of the area's best groups including Digger Jones, Mike Powell and the Echosound, The Unknown Woodsmen, Count Blastula, Metasequoia, The Rollin' Rust, JimmyJohn McCabe, People People, The Soul Benders, Pat Tato and the Baked Potatoes, Cherry Holler, Second Spring, David Graybeard, Raedwald Howland-Bolton, Billy Golicki, Making Strangers and the return of the Silent Disco dance party Saturday night!
All ages are welcome, admission is free for children 12 and under (must be accompanied by an adult), and we're rolling out a brand new concessions area featuring Cortland's very own local spice manufacturer iSpice!

The Rollin' Rust is an indie/folk group from the foothills of Central New York. Being led by singer-songwriter James VanDeuson, The Rollin' Rust celebrates the distinguished writing style of a vagabond folk artist. Joined by his talented friends, Jim Hearn (lead guitarist) and Kyle Dennis (percussion) James' songs now have a distinct edginess to them, sounding almost as if you took a classic folk song and corrupted its mind with years of crazed festivals and long nights in smoky southern bar rooms. The Rollin' Rust boys have been playing music together since they were just teenagers, crafting a truly unique sound that could only be formed by such long-lasting friendship and intimate evenings with the highway itself.

Raedwald Howland-Bolton, hailing from Ithaca, NY, has been performing as a solo musician since he first tasted of the blues in dozens of venues across the state. His heart lies in busking and rarely misses an opportunity to play on the street. Playing covers and originals in both Piedmont and Delta styles, he performs a wide range of genres including, reggae, Calypso, classical, jazz and folk.
Raed's instrument of choice is a round neck resonator and he currently plays a National and a dreadnought wood body Eastman. Proud to keep a special and profound musical genre alive, he's passionate about his work and the work of those who came before him.

JimmyJohn McCabe was on the road by the age of 15 playing rock clubs up and down the coast with his hard-hitting jam band called Yolk. As a front man for the group, JimmyJohn’s booming baritone voice was easily distinguished from any crowd with its rich vibrato and raspy cigarette and whiskey-soaked edges. Yolk released three albums together and toured relentlessly for six years, sharing bills with fellow jam bands moe., Moonboot Lover and the Ominous Seapods.

David has been writing and performing his own music for nearly 50 years. The quality of his music is shaped by a broad swath of experience. Working in a paper mill, as a janitor, as a carpenter's assistant, living rough in a remote cabin and near the heart of town, co-founding and running a software development company, and joining in anti-war and pride protest actions -- all have contributed to his unique take on the world. His songs reflect on the heartfelt motivations, trials and joys of being human.
