SadGirl & The McCharmlys

  • SadGirl

    SadGirl

    Music

SadGirl has always existed in a state of flux, with new contributors coming in and out of the equation and new tactics being explored for capturing found Misha Lindes’ songwriting. And yet the heart and soul of the music has always touched upon memories of the past while mining an analog sound steeped in history, nostalgia, and LA. The group’s sound digs into old school brokenhearted country music like George Jones or Patsy Cline with a slight flourish of Mexican norteño ballads. This new chapter for the group focuses more as a personal recording project than it has been in the past. If this is any indication of what’s to come for SadGirl, then perhaps the past is best left to memory.
  • The McCharmlys

    The McCharmlys

    Music

THE MCCHARMLYS are a five-piece combo from Santa Ana, Calif.,
currently taking the scene by storm with their stylish blend of doo-wop, surf,
beat & 60s style rock ‘n’ roll. LA Weekly called the band “an absolute joy” as
they “recall sounds from past while adding a contemporary edge that is
attractive to punk, new wave and rockabilly fans.”
Taking their name from a obscure Beatles interview, the band was assembled
by band leader & primary songwriter Angie Monroy in 2018, carefully selecting
key players from the Santa Ana scene. Monroy writes music every day, with
influences ranging from The Ramones, Roy Orbison & The Beach Boys. The
band’s lush sound is rounded out by layered harmonies & instrumentation that
has captivated audiences on stage alongside The Delta Bombers, Josie
Cotton, Slim Jim Phantom, Los Yesterdays & more.
The self-titled debut album is streaming now, vinyl in stores worldwide
    September 15, 2023 from Nu-Tone.
  • The High Curbs

    The High Curbs

    Music

The High Curbs are a staple of the Southern California music scene. The band was formed by Ed Moreno and Aaron Korbe in 2013 as young teens in the suburban landscape known as the Inland Empire. They were joined by Alberto Alvarenga when the band began to tour in 2016, he’s remained a pillar to the group ever since. In recent years, the band welcomed Kenny Huerta on bass and Taylor Hecocks of King Shelter on second guitar. The band has put out a massive collection of music throughout the last decade, releasing 3 records, a series of singles, and EPs.

The High Curbs have gathered notoriety over song” Want” thanks to Thrasher’s “King of the road”.

The band is currently working on a new record set to release sometime in 2024.
