ROYA is an electronic/dance-pop duo from Aarhus, Denmark, formed by Line Gade and Sebastian Igens. Line's distinctive vocals and introspective lyrics merge with Sebastian's bold, syncopated productions to create music that is both emotionally resonant and playfully inventive.
Spontaneity drives their process: tracks often start as live experiments, offhand samples, or fleeting ideas, evolving into instinctive, genre-blurring compositions.
In just a year, ROYA has built a global community – THE ROYALS – with over 3 million followers across platforms, and 90+ million streams. Following sold-out European tours, including notable performances in the UK, Germany, and most recently a tour in Australia.
ROYA’s creativity extends beyond music. Their “BOY (Zacaria)” pre-save campaign turned fans into co-creators: for every pre-save, the duo moved 100 meters from their studio, culminating in a surreal live show inside an Icelandic ice cave.
Their latest single, “Just Talk,” went viral before release. A 90-second teaser sparked a fan-led countdown, amassing over 10 million views and a million likes. The track’s message – finding strength in vulnerability – resonates deeply: “silence cannot keep you safe; don't wear your secrets like a holy crown.”
Through sound and imagery, ROYA blend sincerity with playfulness. Their songwriting is “fluid, almost intuitive, even spiritual – we always follow the first impulse and trust the process.” In 2026, they’ll play a summer tour in Europe followed by a North American tour before returning to their home country, Denmark, to play their biggest homecoming concerts so far—continuing a journey guided by instinct, fueled by fans, and fearless in following the flow and trusting the process.
