Ross Mathews
-
Emmy-winning TV host and producer Ross Mathews has been proudly working in the entertainment industry for over 24 years. Endearing, witty and undeniably funny, Mathews has won the hearts of millions of Americans since his television debut in 2001 as a correspondent for “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
Mathews can currently be seen every weekday as co-host and producer on the hit daily syndicated talk show “The Drew Barrymore Show” (about to begin airing season 6). Additionally, Mathews serves as a judge and producer on MTV’s critically acclaimed, award-winning series “RuPaul’s Drag Race” (and Paramount+'s "All Stars"). As an author, Simon & Schuster recently released the paperback version of Mathews’ 2020 book “Name Drop,” the follow up to his national bestseller “Man-Up: Tales of My Delusional Self-Confidence.” To promote both books, Mathews went on a multi-city tour, performing his one man show to sold out shows across the country.
In 2025, Mathews released a children's book, "Tio & Tio: The Ring Bearers" co-written with his educator husband, Dr. Wellinthon Garcia-Mathews. Their publisher Penguin Random House announced a sequel will be released sometime next year.
Mathews hosted and executive produced his own weekly talk show “Hello Ross” on E! for two seasons (2014-2015), as well as two seasons of the syndicated daytime talk show “Hollywood Today Live” alongside co-host Garcelle Beauvais (2017-2019).
As an entrepreneur, Mathews has designed his “Drag Race” wardrobe and created a clothing line, RossXRoss, with Toronto-based designer Ross Mayer and has a collaboration with KAFTKO, designing four sold out kaftan designs. Additionally, Mathews is the CEO of Bubbly Brunches, a drag brunch business with brunches all over the United States and Mexico, partnering with some of the largest hotels and casinos in the world.
When he isn't working on TV and producing events, Mathews can be found in the studio recording his weekly top-rated podcast with Westwood One titled, “Hello Ross”. Recent guests include Guy Fieri, Chelsea Handler, Ricki Lake and more.
Additionally, Mathews has hosted the GLAAD Media Awards six times and in 2018 he was honored with the organization’s Davidson/Valentini Award.
In 2009, Mathews hosted and executive produced a daily web talk show for The Insider and CBS.com called “Inside Dish with Ross Mathews”, the official web show for CBS hits “Big Brother” and the Emmy Award winning series “The Amazing Race.”
Mathews was also a prominent face on the E! Network, appearing weekly on “Chelsea Lately” and filling in as host whenever Cheslea Handler was absent. Additionally, he co-hosted E!’s “Live From The Red Carpet” at every award show, alongside Ryan Seacrest, Giuliana Rancic and Kelly Osbourne. Mathews also contributed often to E! News, covering events like the Olympics, the super bowl and more. He created E! News’ political series “Pop & Politics” series covering the 2012 Presidential Election. Mathews attented both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, where he interviewed politicians including First Lady Michelle Obama, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and former Republican Presidential nominee John McCain.
Mathews currently lives in Westchester County, New York with his husband, Dr. Wellinthon Garcia-Mathews.
