Rose Hotel w/ Heaven Honey & Zilched

Rose Hotel’s label debut A Pawn Surrender sees Atlanta-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Reynolds claiming her agency with a 10-song set of nuanced indie-rock songcraft that pulls from a palette of psychedelic shimmer and folk influence via her Southeastern roots. It’s psychedelic indie folk with an alternative edge and a drive to pay homage to the legends of the art form — using the trappings of the genre not as source material, but as ornamentation.

Due out June 7 on Strolling Bones Records, Reynolds co-produced A Pawn Surrender with Atlanta-based engineers Damon Moon (Standard Electric Recorders) and Graham Tavel (Mirror Mirror Recording) and tapped acclaimed Athens, Georgia producer Drew Vandenberg (Faye Webster, S.G Goodman, Kristine Leschper) for mixing and additional production. The group of studio musicians she assembled nods to her time spent in DIY scenes throughout the Southeast, collectively known for their work with Margo Price, S.G. Goodman, Caitlin Rose, Orville Peck, Rich Ruth, Neighbor Lady, Night Palace, CDSM, and more.

From her hometown of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Reynolds started her music career playing keys for psych-rockers Buffalo Rodeo when she was 19: “We bought an Econoline van that didn’t even have seats in it for like $1,500. We fixed it up, and I learned how to be in a band. I learned how to communicate with sound guys, how to fix a pedal board on the fly, how to be the only girl on a tour with 10 dudes. It was a super formative time for me."

Reynolds has since built a career as a side musician playing keys and guitar and singing for acts like Neighbor Lady, Susto, Faye Webster, and She Returns From War — all while continuing to record as Rose Hotel. Her 2017 collaboration with Rich Ruth resulted in Rose Hotel’s first EP, Always a Good Reason, which she followed with her self-released debut album I Will Only Come When It’s a Yes in 2019. With her first full-length, Paste Magazine listed Rose Hotel among “25 Atlanta Indie Rock Bands You Need to Know,” praising, "It's a miraculous mix of psych-rock, pop and jazz that shouldn’t work, but Reynolds and her band knit them all tightly together for a full, bold sound.
  • Heaven Honey

    Heaven Honey

    Alternative

With Heaven Honey, Jordan Victoria achieves a balance between simplicity and depth indicative of her ever shifting creative interests. From synth infused, down beat pop songs to angular guitar enmeshed rock, Victoria commands a musical left-of-center spae that too few successfully inhabit. With realases "Tomorrow I'll Try" and "Honeydew" Victoria burned brightly on the Nashville music radar and won widespread praise and support among her peers in the competitive Nashville community. Victoria is in no rush to race fellow contemporaries to an imagined musical goal line; Heaven Honey is committed to steady, high caliber and thought provoking writing/production that holds more in its artistic content than a spot on a playlist.

  • Zilched

    Zilched

    Alternative

Chloe Drallos has been making music as Zilched since the summer of 2017, and at only 23, has been established as a scion of the underground.

Initially inspired by the likes of The Jesus and Mary Chain, Hole and The Cure, her debut EP Pulling Teeth was released in 2018 and provided the first glimpse of Zilched’s dizzying, wildly unpredictable noise-pop. A sound that was only amplified and solidified in 2020’s debut LP DOOMPOP. Released on Detroit label Young Heavy Souls, DOOMPOP was met with positive reviews and exposed Drallos’ sound to a national audience.

Her new record Earthly Delights is a testament to the maturation of Drallos’ uncompromising creative vision. Rounding out this goth pop slanted alt-rock with elements of grunge, Earthly Delights is a dazzling display of poetic lyricism as Zilched weaves an intricate tapestry of romantic imagery, metaphor, and religious allegory that softens the blow of her sometimes brutal honesty. Poised between the lure of destruction and the promise of catharsis, the album explores the purgatorial nature of bargaining with love and with oneself.

At its heart, Drallos’ music is an explosive, ethereal Lynchian dream sequence that embodies the notorious ethos of her home in Detroit.
