Rodney Cazimero

Rodney Heloke “Tiny” Cazimero was born in Kapaau, Hawaii, the 9th child of Elizabeth and William Cazimero. Raised by his grandparents, Heloke and Elizabeth Mookini, in Hawi town. Rodney’s singing debut was at his high school Junior Prom when he sang Perry Como’s “Round and Round.” After graduating from Kohala High School, Rodney joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country in Hawaii, the U.S. mainland, Japan, Korea and Thailand.

While stationed on the mainland, Rodney formed a Folk Trio called “The Sinnermen,” which was attached to the Air Defense Command Chorus in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Rodney traveled throughout the Continental United States performing at State Fairs, Television Talk Shows, Summer Concerts and Resorts.

Stationed at Hickam Air Force Base on Oahu, Rodney along with his two brothers, Robert and Roland, and sister, Kanoe, began performing with their parents on military bases and private parties. After 2 ½ years at Hickam, Rodney was assigned to Yokota Air Base in Japan. While in Japan, Rodney helped organize a Hawaiian Troupe to perform for private organizations, military functions and military hospitals and performed throughout Japan and Korea.

Following his 12 years in the Air Force, Rodney returned home to Hawaii and began a career in the travel industry, which offered him the opportunity to meet many wonderful visitors to Hawaii, and to work with corporate and convention meeting planners organizing programs in Hawaii. In addition, he has performed for many of these visiting corporate, incentive and convention programs offering his range of musical talents and love of both Hawaiian music as well as big band and American jazz standards. Rodney has shared his beautiful voice and talents on guitar, ukulele and banjo for programs such as Eli Lilly, Sealy Mattress, Mobil Oil of Australia, AIG Insurance, MATCO Tools, Raleigh Bicycle and many others at venues including the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua, Sheraton Moana, Sheraton Waikiki, Waikiki Beach Marriott, Westin Maui, JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Royal Hawaiian Hotel.

Rodney has performed with many notable entertainers including Melveen Leed, Danny Kaleikini, the late Loyal Garner, former Miss Hawaii Cathy Foy, The Brothers Cazimero, Jan Brenner, Sonia Mendez, Manu Boyd and many others. He has performed in concerts in Japan, as a soloist in the Hawaii Jazz Festival, at the American Heart Association Ball with the PBS Big Band, for the Pacific Rim Meetings + Exhibitions conference and concerts in Anchorage Alaska and San Jose California.

Rodney composed 14 original songs on his first CD, Kohala Moon and received 2 Hoku Hanohano Nominations. He is currently a featured solo singer with the famous Royal Hawaiian Band.
