Nearly 40 years ago, the world blinked and missed ROCKET FROM THE TOMBS. The band formed in Cleveland in the summer of '74 and less than a year later - having released no music and played only a handful of shows - the quintet splintered into punk pioneers the DEAD BOYS and abrasive art-rock outfit PERE UBU. While from the outside DEAD UBU have little in common, ROCKET somehow contained elements of both, fusing punk guitar aggression with darkly cerebral lyrics. Over time, the ROCKET legend grew and after reuniting in the 2000s for a series of tours, the band got together in Cleveland in the summer of '10 to record their first proper LP, Barfly, out this fall via Fire Records. A thunderstorm of proto-punk poetry and contorted, art-garage anthems, the new incarnation featured three original members, singer DAVID THOMAS, guitarist CHEETAH CHROME and bassist CRAIG BELL, as well as UBU drummer STEVE MEHLMAN and RICHARD LLOYD who joins ROCKET from a little band called TELEVISION. Joining the fray tonight are our favorite local space punks PLASTIC CRIEWAVE SOUND and harmony-reveling quartet WARM ONES. Tonight is rock history, folks, and we pity the fool who misses out on this crazy awesome show.

Warm Ones is a noisy ATV for Tony Sackett's three-minute and under pop song grenades. Their style is best described as "violently catchy guitarpop." Covering fire is provided by guitarist Mike Wszolek, bassist Mike Metz and beatman Jon Adler. Warm Ones have recently followed up their first full album "Sprezzatura" with their new EP "Lena" (Available January 6th, 2012). They have been described as "hot" and "that was fucking awesome," so I guess that's all that matters.
