Ritual Breaks is the iconic Mutemath rhythm section, Darren King and Roy Mitchell-Cárdenas and multi-instrumentalist phenom Cory Hale. Based in Nashville, they make frenetic deep-groove, synth-soul that draws from New-Wave, Funk, and Afrobeat influences.  The deep pocket and grooves alone are worth the price of admission but longtime Mutemath fans will perhaps be surprised to see Darren's evolution from being solely behind the drums and synths to becoming a spectacle of a frontman.  Anyone who attends the Basement on August 24th at 7pm will be able to say that they were there for Ritual #1, Ritual Breaks' very first show. Opening the night is Los Angeles based duo Deep Al-Brindle.
