    Funk

Chicago-based performance art group Environmental Encroachment (EE) uses circus theatrics, live music and costumes to create unique entertainment environments, parades, processions, shows, punk artist marching band encroachments and art happenings.
EE combines a costumed marching band with multi-media stage performance antics, including dancers, hooping, juggling and skits. EE encourages people to interact, be a part, be curious, dance, play.
EE can expand to the size of your event - stage shows, mobile experiences, children's shows, Holiday events, street busking, tactical comic encroachments, festivals, rituals, ceremonies, vaudevillian skits, electric and acoustic music jams, funerals and births.

  • Dead Music Capital

    Dead Music Capital

    Funk

Blowing horns and banging drums from beyond the grave, the Dead Music Capital Band is undying proof that the party doesn't have to end just because life does. From originals, New Orleans-brass classics, heavy metal, show tunes, movie themes, to Chopin and beyond--it's all fed through the DMCB brass band organ grinder to produce an outrageously macabre musical party.

  • Love Bomb Go-Go

    Love Bomb Go-Go

    Funk

Clad in silver and white, LoveBomb Go-Go Marching Band of Portland, Oregon: Intergalactic freaks on a mission to mend, with music, the divisions of civilization; seeking universal equality and striving, even, to reestablish purposefulness for each and every life.

Now we enter the second year of our band’s life- having in the space of one short year gone from street performance to playing for 13,000 at the World Naked Bike Ride, from Monday night at Burgerville to warming up for Grammy Award winners Rebirth Brass Band, out of the blue we emerged to play Seattle’s popular Folklife and Bumbershoot festivals.

  • Chaotic Noise Marching Corps

    Chaotic Noise Marching Corps

    Jazz

Chaotic Noise Marching Corps is a Seattle based renegade marching band that is dedicated to keeping the tradition of music, performance, energy, havok, discipline and sheer stupid fun alive in Seattle’s streets.

Founded by committee members and participants of HONK! Fest West as well as other Seattle groups such as Titanium Sporkestra, and Sounders FC Soundwave Band, Chaotic Noise looks to produce high energy shows using a wide variety of musical genres.

Heavily influenced by past projects as well as the likes of The Infernal Noise Brigade, Extra Action Marching Band, and HONK Bands from around the world, Chaotic Noise assures that you will have lots of fun forgetting how to think, breathe and act in your everyday lives.

  • Gora Gora Orkestar

    Gora Gora Orkestar

    World

Gora Gora Orkestar brings the sounds of the Balkans to the Rockies with high energy performances. Formed in the fall of 2009, this 10 piece brass band is dedicated to making the audience dance with its infectious rhythm and own brand of feel-good music. The sound is an eclectic mix, blending Old World melodies of Eastern European folk, with the back beat of American funk and the sultry sway of South American tango into a genre coined “Brass-Hop”.

This happy caravan of musicians is comprised of seasoned veterans in the performance, education, and composition of music. The “Infinite Swag” EP was released in 2011 featuring five of Gora Gora Orkestar’s most recognizable tunes with a follow-up record slated for release in 2014.

Gora Gora Orkestar maintains a busy performance schedule which includes local and national music festivals along with headlining shows at a wide variety of venues. Community outreach is also a big part of the Gora Gora Orkestar mission as they have visited many public schools, performed for local 5k marathons and continue to participate in fund-raising for local businesses.

  • Black Sheep Brass Band

    Black Sheep Brass Band

    Funk

Individually, the Black Sheep Brass-ers were born with instruments internal, making sonorous music from the first laugh, cry and baby gurgle. Collectively, cosmic forces joined these musical magicians throughout the past four years, in the avenues and alleys of Downtown Santa Rosa, to give birth to something wholly new of their own. From the phattest hip hop barnyard beats, to the funkadelic wild of Jungle Jazz, the Black Sheep surely have a rhythmic recipe to make your feet move to unimaginable improvisations, no matter the wild beauty, beast or domestic animal you may be. So, come all you Concrete Jungle Cats and Country Kittens, let us celebrate the majestic unfoldings of space and time through brass, beats and harmonious rhyme.

  • Ten Man Brass Band

    Ten Man Brass Band

    Funk

Inspired by the unconventional music of the Youngblood Brass Band, a group of high school friends formed the Ten Man Brass Band in the summer of 2011. Ten Man's genres include riot jazz, acoustic multi-phonics, and street brass. Their sets consist of covers of brass specific songs, arrangements of popular music, and original charts. You can hear them at Folklife Festival, Honk! Fest West, and Bite of Seattle. Whether it's a gig at an elementary school or busking at the Capitol Hill Block Party, they love to play and share the power of brass.

  • Vamola Drum & Dance Ensemble

    Vamola Drum & Dance Ensemble

    World

Through vibrant processions, parades, and stage performances, VamoLá brings to life the celebratory spirit of Brazilian Carnaval. While the emphasis is on SAMBA —"the essence of the Brazilian musical soul"— VamoLá offers a rich array of other music and dance styles from the Northeast of Brazil including the primal beats of Samba-reggae, Baiao and Maracatu.

This exuberant drum and dance ensemble envelops the audience in driving rhythms, inviting you to join in the experience and blurring the line between spectator and performer.

  • The M9

    The M9

    Funk

M9 is a pop/rock-leaning multi-genre band founded at Grove City College in September 2005. Writing original material as well as covering selected songs from such artists as the Newsboys, Ben Folds and John Mayer, M9 draws inspiration from many artists and styles.  The band was born when Jason KarimMark Dickinson, and Doug Cline, who were on the same freshman hall, discovered a mutual love for music, jamming out, and awesomeness in general. Adopting the motto of writing every song in a different genre, the members of M9 soon created such diverse songs as At the MAP (pop/rock), Party Grove City Style (rapcore), Phoenix Rising (folk/rock), and Aurora (ballad). Via campus events, word of mouth, and the dark magic of the internet embodied through this ever-evolving website, M9 has reached out to the world and maintained a small but loyal following of fans. Although the band is currently separated geographically (as Mark, Jason, and Doug have graduated from Grove City), music continues to flow, and free mp3s will still be released as they are written/finished.
