Rock & Roll
Them Vibes
Them Vibes
Rock & Roll
Bio:
Formed and honed in East Nashville, TN by lead singer Brother Love and
guitarist Alex Haddad, Them Vibes shook the foundations of Music City
with their blitzkrieg live show and soulful songwriting. Inflected
with the rhythmic sway of The Faces and T-Rex, the raw energy of the
Rolling Stones and the Black Crowes, and the whiplash funk of Sly And
The Family Stone and James Brown, Them Vibes has risen to a sonic
experience all of their own.
The band has opened for household names like Cage the Elephant,
Fantastic Negrito, Dumpstaphunk, Cheap Trick, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cimafunk, and The
Flaming Lips. With four records under their belt- Shine On, TV,
Electric Fever, Why The Funk Not- and a brand new LP on the way,
their songs have been featured on CBS's NCIS: LA, ABC's The Rookie,
Showtime's Shameless, Amazon's Sneaky Pete, Netflix's The Ranch, and a
National T-Mobile campaign. America's number one independent radio
station, Lightning 100 WRLT, ranked their self-titled single, Electric
Fever, number 22 in the Top 200 Songs of The Year and Top 4 Best Shows
To See Live! A Year later, their DIY single release of the funk-heavy
cut, Right On, was ranked number 4, rising above innumerable major
label acts.
Fresh out of the studio, Them Vibes newest record is a kaleidoscopic
bang of color and sound. It’s deep yet cheeky. Free but structurally
mature. Funked up and rocked far out. They call their record Sonic
Chameleonic, and it is exactly that: one organic musical force
sonically color-defying with every track. The entire album is now out
on 140-gram vinyl and is available only on their website and their
live shows. It will be released to streaming services on September
1st.

Folk Rock
Nightingail
Nightingail
Folk Rock
Meet Nightingail, the soft cooing pseudonym of Nashville-based songwriter Alicia Gail. Originally from Memphis, TN, Alicia’s music bleeds classic blues with her own personal spin on indie folk.
Her lyrical explorations are equal parts narrative and universal. Her haunting melodies evoke a sense of sorrowful optimism hidden within each song.
In her self-titled debut EP, Nightingail, Alicia infuses her most self-evident truths through her enamoring voice and stark compositions. While Alicia’s strength as Nightingail is undoubtedly her lyrical prose, her abilities as a musician pierce the veil of emotionalism. In turn, the combination of talent and perspective allows her to move seamlessly untethered through her music.
The freedom of movement brought about by Nightingail allows Alicia to arrive at her purest truths. Ultimately, Nightingail’s songs serve as picture of strength, showing heartache and joy as equal opportunities to grow.
Currently a resident of Nashville, Nightingail is well on her way to becoming a staple in the music scene. This year (2017) Nightingail will be releasing a few live performances in Nashville’s Magnetic Sound Studio, as well as an EP in late Spring.
Enjoy the tunes.

Country
Lilly Hiatt
Lilly Hiatt
Country
Lilly Hiatt's third LP, Trinity Lane, is an intensely personal, autobiographical 12-song set produced by Michael Trent of Shovels & Rope, who is also featured as a musician throughout and joined by his wife and Shovels & Rope partner Cary Ann Hearst for backing vocals on album track "Everything I Had." Citing the Pixies, Breeders, Dinosaur Jr., and her favorite, Pearl Jam as influences, Hiatt’s love of the ‘90s alt-rock she was raised on shines through with distressed guitars and urgent backbeats – but there is also something distinctly Americana lurking in the songs.
Of the album, Hiatt says, "Love will take you to the darkest places but also the most honest places if you let it. Learning how to love myself is something I’ve always been lousy with, and I spent some time on that. I thought about my sobriety, what that means to me, the struggles I’d had throughout the years, since I was a 27-year-old and hung up my toxic drinking habit. I thought about my mother, who took her own life when I was a baby, not far from my age at 30 years old, and I related to her more than ever. As you can see, there was plenty of time spent on my own. I didn’t talk to that many folks, albeit a few close friends, and leaned into my family. I stayed away from men, and danced alone in the evenings, looking out my window observing my humble and lively neighborhood. I found power in being by myself."

Blues
Patrick Sweany
Patrick Sweany
Blues
On a given night (or on a given album) he'll swing through blues, folk, soul, bluegrass, maybe some classic 50s rock, or a punk speedball. He's a musical omnivore, devouring every popular music sound of the last 70 years, and mixing 'em all together seamlessly into his own stew. Yet, the one thing that most people notice about Patrick isn't his ability to copy - it's his authenticity. Like his heroes, artists like Bobby "Blue" Bland, Doug Sahm, Joe Tex, Patrick somehow manages to blend all of these influences into something all his own.
It's no wonder that as a kid he immersed himself in his dad's extensive record collection: 60s folk, vintage country, soul, and, of course, blues. Patrick spent hours teaching himself to fingerpick along to Leadbelly, Lightnin' Hopkins, and other folk-blues giants.
In his late teens, Patrick began playing the clubs and coffeehouses around Kent, OH. He quickly gained a reputation for the intricate country blues style he was developing: part Piedmont picking, part Delta slide - with an equally impressive deep, smooth vocal style.
But Patrick wouldn't stay in the acoustic world for long. His love of 50s era soul and rock fused with the adrenaline-soaked garage punk revival happening throughout the Rust Belt pushed him to form a band.
After 6 critically acclaimed records (two produced by longtime collaborator Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys), Patrick has expanded his touring radius to 49 states and Europe. He's played premiere festivals (Newport Folk Fest, Merlefest, Montreal Jazz Fest, Telluride Blues & Brews) and supported international acts such as The Black Keys, The Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Wood Brothers, Hot Tuna, and others on tour.
His latest record, Daytime Turned To Nighttime, comes out in September 2015. It was recorded in his adopted community of E. Nasheville, TN and features contributions from long-time collaborator and producer Joe McMahan (Allsion Moorer, Webb Wilder), Ron Eoff (Cate Brothers, Levon Helm), Bryan Owings(Tony Joe White, Solomon Burke), among others. For Daytime Sweany took a fairly different approach than his usual raw, intense blues sound, opting for more subtle textures and playing. Seminal 70s records by Bill Withers, Bobbie Gentry and Bobby Charles & The Band provide the sonic blueprint, while Sweany wraps his trademark baritone and impeccable acoustic slide work around songs of longing, redemption and growing up.
