Comedy
Rea Kapur is a Bay Area based comedian, almost professional filmmaker, and devout lesbian. She’s performed all over the west coast, opening for the likes of Dylan Carlino, Deanne Smith, Tommy Tiernan, Jackie Kashian, and the patron saint of mental health comedy, Maria Bamford. A regular at Rooster T Feathers and the San Jose Improv, Rea’s performed at SF Sketchfest, Oakland Comedy Festival, and Santa Cruz Comedy Festival. Chosen as “Comic of the Week” on the Jackie and Laurie show (Jackie Kashian and Laurie Kilmartin), Rea’s brutal honesty and quick wit make her a dazzling, dynamic, and sometimes depressingly relatable comedian. She uses comedy as a means of connection and education, breaking down barriers with laughter to discuss taboo topics and destigmatize mental illness. Though a newcomer to the stand up scene, Rea is quickly rising. (Like literally, she's stoned right now.)
