Austin, TX — Country music torchbearers Sentimental Family Band have caught the attention of the American roots music scene with their debut album, Sweethearts Only. Released in March 2024 on Theo Lawrence’s Tomika Records, Sweethearts Only drew widespread acclaim, earning glowing features in publications such as Saving Country Music, KUTX, Bandcamp Daily, Whiskey Riff, Glide, Holler, and an Austin Chronicle cover story. The band’s Texas twist on an early-sixties Nashville sound resonated deeply with audiences and critics alike, culminating in year-end honors including winning both "Best Country Band" and "Best Vocalist" at the 43rd Annual Austin Music Awards and a placement on Bandcamp’s “Best Country Music of 2024” list.
Since the release of Sweethearts Only, the band has taken their Austin-fried golden-era country sound on the road, having performed at regional dance hall events such as New York’s “Honky Tonkin in Queens” and Tulsa’s “Tulsey Town Two-Step.” This winter, Sentimental Family Band will debut in Nashville at the New West Records Holiday Party Showcase and will support fellow Austinites Rattlesnake Milk on a two-week West coast tour.
