Rail Splitters started out as a country blues duo that morphed into a rip-roaring rock and roll band that wears its musical inspiration on its worn denim sleeve. Founded by brothers John and Patrick Dermody, Rail Splitters added drummer Ralph Mietz and guitarist David Ormiston in 2020 to expand its sound to develop a 4-piece band influenced by a broad range of musicians, from Reverend Gary Davis and Django Reinhardt to J.J. Cale, The Kinks, and the musicians who crafted the Motown Sound. Rail Splitters is a band that uses the sounds and styles of classic American music to speak to their experiences as individuals and to create new ways of presenting the world as they see it. Rail Splitters released their first EP Bookhouse Tapes: Volume 1 in late 2024 and will be releasing Volume 2 in Late Spring/Early Summer 2026.
