In 2017, as the winner of the Sarah Vaughn Competition, Quiana Lynell made her salient mark on the jazz–and–beyond musical world as a warm and wise singer with a voice conveying soul, intensity, and spiritual courage. Her performance with her trio at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival led to a gala show in Poland in a tribute to Spike Lee with trumpeter Terence Blanchard leading a 75–piece orchestra. A Little Love, Quiana Lynell’s debut CD, includes her deeply personal interpretations of songs by Donny Hathaway (“Tryin’ Times”), Irma Thomas (“Hip–Shakin’ Mama”), and Duke Ellington (“Come Sunday”) among others.
