Description
In 2017, as the winner of the Sarah Vaughn Competition, Quiana Lynell made her salient mark on the jazz–and–beyond musical world as a warm and wise singer with a voice conveying soul, intensity, and spiritual courage. Her performance with her trio at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival led to a gala show in Poland in a tribute to Spike Lee with trumpeter Terence Blanchard leading a 75–piece orchestra. A Little Love, Quiana Lynell’s debut CD, includes her deeply personal interpretations of songs by Donny Hathaway (“Tryin’ Times”), Irma Thomas (“Hip–Shakin’ Mama”), and Duke Ellington (“Come Sunday”) among others. Lynell sees each opportunity to share music with any audience as a chance to create memories and build the soundtrack of life. Don’t miss this rising star of vocal jazz – for one night only, and only at Jazz Standard! Quiana Lynell – voice Matt Sewell – guitar Willerm Delisfort – piano Jonathan Michel – bass Darrian Douglas – drums
