Description
Poor Frisco is an indie-rock band based in NYC channeling influences like The Strokes, The Killers, and Tokyo Police Club. A tight rock combo composed of two guitarists, a bassist, keys and a drummer. Their 2021 EP, "Sky of Gold", features bright, interwoven guitars and a punchy rhythm section. In 2023 they released their second EP, "King of My Head", building on their debut sound with crackling riffs and dissonant melodies. Kim McClay has been writing for years in between (or sometimes during) acting contracts (most notably, she toured the US as Maggie in A Chorus Line). Her debut album 'My Sanity' - streaming now on all platforms - is a culmination of the last 6 years of her composing journey. It tells her stories of heartbreak, triumph, perseverance, and hope. A multi-disciplined artist, Kim has been seen onstage at multiple New York City venues, including Dive106, Arlene's Grocery, Feinstein's/54 Below, StubHub, & more! Kim's musical style offers a bit of everything - a little folk, a little funk & a little pop/country! She derives inspiration from some of her favorite artists (Lianne La Havas, Allen Stone, Joni Mitchell, Sara Bareilles, Lake Street Dive, the list goes on...) & has created a sound she uniquely considers "indie-pop jazz-folk". Brian Flores is a Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter, actor, and multi-instrumentalist. He is just getting into the music scene and is excited to sing these songs for you! Your Dad we're a new rock/punk band with a few recordings under our belt and a strong desire to play a few live shows. We can pull a decent crowd. Adam Aronson refined through live performances, playing and writing over the course of time resulted in the first six singles which began with ‘You Give Me the Words’ on January 1, 2021. The next single ‘When the Tornado Comes’ earned widespread acclaim with critics hailing “The best thing about Covid is discovering new talent like this” and ‘’a simple but memorable and catchy hook, with a great concept that is encouraging and empowering. The entire song has a very reassuring and inspirational sound while still capturing a whimsical sort of sadness. The great combination of emotions work perfectly together.” This was followed up with ‘Bets and Blame’ which earned a prestigious spot on the 2021 Top Country Music playlist on Spotify. ‘Rock Bottom’ was released in April of 2022 and has since become Adam’s most streamed song to date. Live performances will be taking place in Brooklyn and NYC in October in November as well as several podcast appearances.
