  • Living Colour

    Living Colour

    Alternative Rock

Living Colour is a funk metal group formed in New York city in 1984. They signed to Epic Records in 1987 and released their first album, Vivid, in 1988.

Stylistically their music is a creative fusion influenced by guitar-based rock such as hardcore punk andheavy metal, and traditional African-American music such as jazz, funk, and hip-hop. They are linked to thefunk metal/alternative metal movement of the late 1980s typified by bands such as Fishbone, Jane’s Addiction, Primus, Faith No More, and 24-7 Spyz. They are best remembered for the hit Cult of Personality, which won a Grammy Award for best hard rock performance in 1989. They were also named Best New Artist at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards. The singer, Corey Glover, had a role in the movie ‘Platoon’, directed by Oliver Stone.

The first two albums bassist Muzz Skillings contributed to the music, before leaving in 1992 due to creative differences. They were inactive from 1995-2000, and since their return have operated as a regular touring unit, as well as releasing one new studio release, Collide0Scope, one compilation of b-sides & rarities, and one live album from their early performances at the now mythical CBGB’s. All four have released solo albums and session work, Doug Wimbish and Will Calhoun also are in both Jungle Funk and Head>>Fake,Corey Glover is also doing musical theatre, Vernon Reid has several projects, and Wimbish also has returned to various projects related to his other longstanding collaborators Adrian Sherwood, Keith Leblanc, and Skip McDonald.

  • Suzanne Vega

    Suzanne Vega

    Alternative Rock

Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk-music revival of the early 1980s when, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, she sang what has been labeled contemporary folk or neo-folk songs of her own creation in Greenwich Village clubs. Since the release of her self-titled, critically acclaimed 1985 debut album, she has given sold-out concerts in many of the world’s best-known halls. In performances devoid of outward drama that nevertheless convey deep emotion, Vega sings in a distinctive, clear vibrato-less voice that has been described as “a cool, dry sandpaper- brushed near-whisper” and as “plaintive but disarmingly powerful.”

Bearing the stamp of a masterful storyteller who “observed the world with a clinically poetic eye,” Suzanne’s songs have always tended to focus on city life, ordinary people and real world subjects. Notably succinct and understated, often cerebral but also streetwise, her lyrics invite multiple interpretations. In short, Suzanne Vega’s work is immediately recognizable, as utterly distinct and thoughtful, and as creative and musical now, as it was when her voice was first heard on the radio over 20 years ago.

  • Ripe

Ripe is a Funk/Pop band out of Boston, MA that was born as a result of its seven members' uniting over one belief: with enough passion and honesty, music can still make the earth shake. With one eye looking back to the inception of both funk and psychedelic music, and the other looking forward with a modern concept of what makes people move, Ripe seeks both to honor musical history as well as to make it. The perfect fruit is equal parts past and present, and this is the approach of the Ripe sound.

With a strong devotion to consistently creating an unforgettable live experience, Ripe has kept the groove going touring nationally from coast to coast. With a recently released sophomore EP, Hey Hello, and plans to start recording a full-length album in the coming year, Ripe is shifting into overdrive with every intention of taking this to the stratosphere. The Ripe family asks you to get loose, get down, and get ready. The party is just getting started.

  • The Pousette-Dart Band

    The Pousette-Dart Band

For their part, Pousette-Dart Band reflected the sounds of the ‘70s, securing their place in the musical firmament by purveying that harmonious soft rock sound also advanced by bands like the Eagles, America and Orleans. Signed to Capitol Records, they put out four critically hailed albums for the label (Pousette-Dart Band, Amnesia, Pousette-Dart Band 3, and Never Enough) and a recent compilation (The Best of Pousette-Dart Band), and recruited for some of the biggest tours of the decade, including Peter Frampton’s Frampton Comes Alive victory lap and Yes’ epic Fragile extravaganza. Jon himself traveled in the same circles as some of the era’s brightest luminaries – James Taylor and the entire Taylor clan, Bonnie Raitt and Little Feat’s Lowell George among them.

After an absence of several years in which he earned a comfortable living working in the lucrative world of television jingles, singing and playing sessions, collaborating with other songwriters, and producing a series for the History Channel and representing the work of his father -- the internationally renowned abstract artist Richard Pousette-Dart -- Jon resurfaced on his own. He revived and reignited his musical career, beginning with a recorded reunion with his
old colleagues aptly entitled "It’s About Time" followed by another belated effort that was initiated with his former colleagues in the early ‘90s and eventually issued in 1998. The album, entitled Ready To Fly (later re-titled Put Down Your Gun), was an assertive statement decrying the growing violence engulfing the country. His solo career would continue in earnest with 2002’s Sample This, Heart & Soul in 2005, and Anti-Gravity in 2008.

Jon recently released his latest solo record, "Talk", in 2015 to critical acclaim!

    Sir Cadian Rhythm

They released their first self titled EP in February 2015 and received a range of recognition for it from countless music blogs, magazines and radio stations across New York.

"Sir Cadian Rhythm is a first rate album. And, on the whole, the energy driving the band is palpable, and the music generates a vivacity of expression that is both original and engaging." - The Huffington Post
In May 2015 Sir Cadian Rhythm won the 96.9 WEHM BATTLE OF THE BANDS contest against hundreds of other phenomenal bands across New York.

"All the bands were good but when they played, they were just so good that there was no question. They were entertaining to watch. Killer musicians. Great vocals. Great songs. We just looked at each other and were like, there it is. They were like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, they just had it all." - Jim Faith, Producer of GSB Music Festial

  • Ghost Millionaires

    Ghost Millionaires

    Pop Rock

With influences ranging from X to Y, Ghost Millionaires play the gamut from heavy minor-key rock to Z-esque pop, stopping at places as diverse as A, B and C, and all somewhere this side of somebody really good.

The band’s moniker is an artifact plucked from the dark recesses of Lou Reed’s mind, stealthily appropriated from an early VU song. “We wanted something universal but also something NY”, says singer Mani Cregan. So what could be better than to crawl from the primordial ooze of the proto-Velvets, equal parts pop/rock/punk/classic all dressed up in melody and beautiful noise?!

in late 2014, the band released their sophomore album, vessels, which included singles “nomad” and “hitting reset.”

STELLAR YOUNG spent much of the 2015-2016 year writing and conceptualizing a series of existential eps. the first, the spark caught, was released in september 2016 and followed by a u.s. tour.
