When you hear someone mention “Tom Petty Tribute Band”, you immediately think of someone in a tacky blonde wig and a cheesy vocal performance with a fake, nasally-Bob Dylan type delivery. Well, that is not who Petty Thief is. Petty Thief is a no frills rock band from Seattle, WA who meticulously encompass the Tom Petty sound and musically establish an emotional connection with the crowd that’s assembled. When asked why they didn’t take the impersonation and prop-driven approach, founder Andy Volmer says, “we wanted to approach the tribute genre as a true live rock and roll band, not a novelty act, and with the current lineup of the band, we have what no one else has - the most authentic and genuine sounding Tom Petty experience in the Pacific Northwest.”
