Faking It: Manipulated Photography

Photographers have used ingenious methods to manipulate camera images since the medium was invented, well before the existence of digital technology. Faking It features some 200 visually captivating images, tracing photography’s complex and changing relationship to visual truth from the 1840s through the early 1990s. Made possible by Adobe.
Tomás Saraceno on the Roof: Cloud City

Artist Tomás Saraceno has created Cloud City, a constellation of large, interconnected modules constructed with transparent and reflective materials. Merging art, architecture, and science, Saraceno’s work explores the ways in which we inhabit and experience our environment. Visitors may enter and walk through the structure or view it from the main level of the Met’s Roof Garden, set against the dramatic backdrop of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline.
