Description
Brooklyn based noise-pop trio PARTS & LABOR return supporting their March-released new LP out via Jagjaguwar, Constant Future. Full of synthesized keyboard riffs distorted into oblivion, percussion pummeled hypnotically, crackling drones that haunt and soothe and fearless melodies hollered skyward, the release cements their place in the halls of modern art-punk and MOJO has called the effort, "their best record yet…a joyous explosion of sound." The LP was recorded in a former boxing ring in Milwaukee, so it only makes sense tonight to have them joined by one of that city's finest exports, CALL ME LIGHTNING playing their cacophonous, disorienting and madcap rock that is packed to the brim with inspired guitar licks and biting, caterwauling vocals. Detroit based CHILD BITE, a full blown five piece featuring the genre-defiance of DEVO but with signature doo-wopping-human-Theremin vocals return to open here tonight.

A Milwaukee-based power trio named after an obscure Who B-side, Call Me Lightning makes up for its relative lack of size by aggressively pumping up its sound until it approximates Who's Next-style (by way of Black Flag) thunder. (The Onion) Call Me Lightning of Milwaukee are everything you want in a heavy punk-rock band: they’re urgent, the songs are driving, they’ve got great riffs, and their frontman exudes brilliant personality.
