Without doubt the biggest electronic party in New York city is Girls and Boys - the 2000+ people party that features some of the biggest and most cutting edge names in dance music such as MSTRKRFT, Justice, deadmau5, Simian Mobile Disco, Vitalic, A-Trak, Crookers, Bloody Beetroots, Boys Noize, Rusko, Neon Indian and many, many more. Every Friday for well over a year, the Grand Ballroom at Webster Hall has been transformed into a packed room of electro kids, hands in the air in appreciation of the throbbing distorted bass and electronic beats that have altered the landscape of dance music in America over the last few years.

Jake Stanczak (born January 28, 1981), known by his stage names Kill the Noise and Ewun, is an electronic music producer from Rochester, New York. He co-owns the label Slow Roast Records alongside DJ Craze, which is distributed by Fool's Gold Records.[1]

In 2006, he recorded a DJ mix for the Barcode Recordings LP "Shades Of Black" that was featured on its CD release. He has also appeared on many compilation albums under the name Ewun.

In 2011, he produced and was featured on "Narcissistic Cannibal", and "Fuels The Comedy", from Korn's tenth studio album, The Path of Totality. "Narcissistic Cannibal" was released as a single on October 18, 2011, with the album following on December 6, 2011.

On February 3, 2012, Stanczak took the stage with Korn to perform for Jimmy Kimmel Live!.[2]

Stancazak was on the radio show DVDASA on January 15, 2014. His collaboration with SkrillexFatman Scoop and Michael Angelakos, "Recess", entered the UK Singles Chart at number 57. The song is the title track from Skrillex's debut album Recess.

The four men behind the French turntabilist crew Birdy Nam Nam met as members of the much larger Scratch Action Hiro, winners of the 2000 DMC World DJ Team Championship. Crazy B, DJ Pone, Little Mike, and DJ Need formed Birdy Nam Nam the next year, taking their name from a line in the 1968 Peter Sellers film The Party. They went on to win the 2002 DMC World DJ Team Championship before shifting their focus to studio work. Released on the Uncivilized World label in 2005, their self-titled debut was created entirely on turntables and featured a mix of jazz, funk, and downtempo sounds. Touring to support the album influenced the band to create more energetic and dancefloor oriented tracks. When the "Trans Boulogne Express" single appeared in 2007, fans got a taste of the group's new, more electro flavored work. The track landed on their 2009 effort Manual for Successful Rioting, an album that found the four programming and playing synths along with their turntables. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi

  • Monsta

    Monsta

MONSTA have been described as having the melodic synth thrum of Flux Pavilion, the tech-soul vocal drops of Moby and the reverberant snares of trip-hop act U.N.K.L.E. -but their sound is instrument-based and largely sample-free and it was Skrillex who found them. The trio (producers Rocky and Rufio and vocalist Bryn Christopher) will release their first EP on the electronic dance music (EDM) star's indie imprint OWSLA this summer.

"I was at South by Southwest with my manager Tim [Smith] and a few friends," says Skrillex. "Tim says, 'I got something,' and pulls up [MONSTA's ‘Holdin' On’]. I said, 'That's a sick track and a cool vocal sample. Where'd they get that from? Is that Aretha Franklin?'’ But it wasn't a sample. It was Christopher's powerfully androgynous performance of an original song written and recorded by the group.

‘Holdin' On’ has all the makings of a radio hit-not only an irresistible vocal hook, but a complete verse-chorus-verse song structure. The EP boasts remixes from electronic music’s finest; Dillon Francis, Alvin Risk and even though he has turned down requests from the worlds biggest stars, Skrillex has cleared his schedule to put his mark on the EP with an exclusive remix too (his last one won him a Grammy Award). "This is not your typical dubstep. A lot of that has already become cliché," he says. "This is next-level."

Signed to the same management stable as Chase & Status, Knife Party and Sub Focus and remixing for artists such as Zedd, Labrinth and Skylar Grey; MONSTA have been played by Zane Lowe on Radio 1 as his ‘Next Hype’ and featured by the likes of NME, 1883, Disorder and included in Billboard magazine’s albums for Summer 2012, ‘40 Hottest Releases’. MONSTA are becoming a regular feature on the club and festival circuit, having already wowed crowds at Camden Crawl, Wireless and Isle of Wight Festival and have been personally invited by Xfm’s Eddy Temple Morris to play a coveted slot at this years sold out Secret Garden Party.
