The Opera Atelier Inc. presents: Opera Meets Zarzuela About the Program Opera Meets Zarzuela combines the Opera Juana Inés, about the life and times of trailblazing nun and intellectual Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, as she navigates the conflicts between her religious vocation and her writing and studies, and the zarzuela La Revoltosa, depicting the highs and lows of love relationships of everyday people in an immigrant community in New York City. With the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners, The Florida Division of Arts and Culture, and South Dade KIA. About The Opera Atelier, INC The Opera Atelier delivers excellence in opera performance and education, furthering the art through compelling performances in-depth education, and connections to other disciplines. With roots tracing back to New York City, the company began public performances in South Florida in 2012. Besides quality productions, The Opera Atelier offers artistic collaboration, professional training, and a creative exchange space where artists and opera lovers draw inspiration from one another.
