    Old Coast

    Americana

“It sounds like sand blowing through canyon walls,” Zane said of Seattle based Indie-Americana band, Old Coast, “and his voice sounds like dusk,” he laughed, regarding singer Asher Deaver. Originally from Tucson, AZ, Asher has held on to his desert roots after relocating to Seattle for medical reasons in 2011. A lover of old time country and folk music, Asher began playing solo shows around the city and soon became a well respected songwriter in the Seattle music scene. He started collaborating with long time friend and bass player Alex Stoops (Courtney Marie Andrews, Dismal Tide) and when an old band mate, fiddle player Jon Berry (Pioneers of Primetime TV, Horsefinger), relocated from Las Cruces, NM, they began to flesh out a fuller and more polished sound. 2016 found drummer, Luke Dumke, and vocalist, Nik Singleton, (both of Decade of the Dead Arcade) also moving north from Las Cruces. After several recommendations from mutual friends, Asher, Luke, and Nik were introduced and began collaborating quickly bringing Alex and Jon into the mix. Shortly after, guitarist Manny Rodriguez (also of Decade of the Dead Arcade) followed from New Mexico to round out their sound. Between Luke, Manny and Nik's indie-rock roots and Asher, Alex, and Jon's 60's folk vibe, Old Coast morphed into a unique sound, both timeless yet new. They began playing shows with both local and national acts, receiving positive reviews. Several months of writing together brought on the release of their first of single, “Walls.” Their diverse mix of whiskey drinking desert songs and hard working old time harmonies create a unique brand of Pacific Northwest Americana.

    Sarah Gerritsen

    Alternative Folk

Sarah Gerritsen is bursting upon the Seattle singer/songwriter scene like a revelation: a vocalist with a strong and versatile instrument, a rocker’s nervy instincts, and a respect for alt country americana traditions that choreograph well with the Northwest’s current crop of songtellers, without following in their wake. What’s most remarkable is that Gerritsen has stayed in the shadows of the music scene for so many years, seldom showing her cards, quietly honing her writing skills, building a nationwide network of industry relationships, and building a band of extremely talented artists to create an unforgettable sound.

    Steep Ravine

    Americana

Steep Ravine is a folk rock and newgrass band from the San Francisco Bay Area. Songwriter Simon Linsteadt (guitar, lead vocals) and Jan Purat (violin, vocals) began playing music together in high school, later moving on to study music at UC Santa Cruz and the California Jazz Conservatory. They met bassist Alex Bice (bass, vocals) through jam sessions in Santa Cruz. Drummer Jeff Wilson is the band’s most recent addition. Steep Ravine has toured extensively throughout the country and has recorded three full-length records.

Following their humble beginnings playing at a Hawaiian barbecue spot in Santa Cruz and busking in the BART Metro Stations of San Francisco, Steep Ravine quickly gained a following in the Bay Area and throughout the west. After the release of their debut record TRAMPIN’ ON, the band went on several national tours, including notable performances at High Sierra Music Festival, Four Corners Folk Festival, Pagosa Folk n' Bluegrass, Outside Lands, and Strawberry Music Festival. In 2015, Steep Ravine released their second record THE PEDESTRIAN.

TURNING OF THE FALL, Steep Ravine's most recent album, was released in spring of 2017 and features nine new original songs.

"Built on a solid foundation of gifted songwriting, fine singing, and acoustic string dexterity, [Steep Ravine] may well be opening up a whole new stylistic direction for musicians and listeners alike to follow."
    —Bluegrass Unlimited

    The Pedestrian:

“An exquisite collection of original acoustic folk laced with influences of bluegrass, pop, jazz, even a hint of funk … The sound is rich, textured, layered, lovely …"
    — Marin Independent Journal

"Polished, highly crafted tunes awash with catchy hooks, luscious melodies, tight harmonies and intricate stringwork."
    — FolkWords
