    River Shook is an artist in constant evolution, and their new eponymous debut album deserves the listener’s full attention. The songs explode with everything fans came to expect over the last decade of Shook’s career: galvanizing, strikingly honest lyrics, unmatched musical prowess, addictive melodies, and an effortless blending of elements from outlaw country, indie rock, and rock ‘n’ roll. While they are usually backed by a full band, hitting headlining tours 150 days per year in the USA and Europe, they have a run of special acoustic duo dates this summer supporting Old 97s. The duo features River Shook and Blake Tallent on acoustic guitars and offers stripped-down, intimate versions of songs from the debut album plus fan favorites from Sarah Shook & the Disarmers’ catalog.
