Odd Harmonic Music Series
Orlando’s experimental soundscape expands this fall with the launch of Odd Harmonic, a new series spotlighting avant-garde, free-jazz, and improvisational music. Curated by local artist and organizer Derek Morton . (IG:@exatari) known for his work with the ODrone Festival, Circuit Church: Uncontrolled Voltage, and The Nook’s free-music series—Odd Harmonic is a platform for fearless sonic exploration.
The Lineup
Moon Rays
Bassist/composer Thomas Milovac conjures a swamp-born collision of jazz, free improvisation, and garage rock. Joined by Dan Tenbusch (keys), Zach Muth (guitar), Jamesly Jean-Marie (drums), Derek Dunn (electronics), and Milovac (bass), the group delivers dynamic, unpredictable sets. Their debut album drops this October on Milovac’s Cosmo Sonic Collective.
Salty Jazz Crabs
Stephen Connolly (Pothole Skinny, Perhaps Transparent) and Derek Morton (Berz3rkr, Mikroknytes, Brown Wing Overdrive) craft alien-drone and horror-tinged ambience from homemade devices, cassettes, and synths. Evoking lost sci-fi soundtracks and deep-sea transmissions, their sound is immersive, unsettling, and strangely beautiful.
Derek Dunn
Canadian-born, Orlando-based artist Derek Dunn transforms drum kits into synth controllers and dives into primitive guitar meditations. From ambient washes to chaotic “unlearned jazz,” his work is unpredictable and deeply personal—a creative path sparked by a chance encounter with abstract art in childhood.
DRUJHN
The solo project of Andrew Jon, DRUJHN weaves Southern dream-pop and industrial textures into hazy transmissions of looped strings, distorted keys, and surreal visual projections. His live shows blur the line between concert and dreamstate—immersive, audiovisual journeys both haunting and emotional.
