Rodrigo Torres, better known as Nsqk, is one of the most innovative artist-producers
shaping music today. Born in Monterrey and raised in Houston, he grew up between
worlds—never fully belonging to one culture or the other. That outsider energy fuels
everything he does: fearless experimentation, a refusal to fit stereotypes, and a relentless
drive to build something new.
Nsqk’s sound is as layered as his identity, colliding electronic textures with R&B, hip-hop,
and left-field pop. But his impact goes beyond music. He is part of a generation of Mexican
artists rewriting the rules of what Latin creators are “supposed” to be. His success has
cracked open space for artists who refuse to be boxed in, while pulling global audiences into
Mexico’s alt-music scene. Fans from Tokyo to LA are tuning in—not just to his songs, but to
a movement he represents.
That cultural influence has made him a sought-after partner for global brands. Adidas
tapped him for their Superstar campaign, Ray-Ban spotlighted him as a creative
disruptor, and JBL partnered with him to amplify his sonic vision. Each collaboration
reflects what his music does best: authenticity, boldness, and artistry that travels far beyond
the stage.
In 2024, Nsqk released ATP (Aún Te Pienso), an album that Rolling Stone named one of
the 50 Best Latin Albums and 100 Best Albums of the Year. His momentum has only
grown: in 2025, he became the only solo artist from Monterrey to sell out two nights at
Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, a historic achievement that solidified him as a
leader of Mexico’s new wave. That same year, he was featured in Rolling Stone’s “Future
25” issue and lit up the stage at SXSW.
In 2026, he opened the year with his debut on Spotify Sessions, reimagining five tracks
alongside the Big Band Jazz de México under the musical direction of Meme del Real (Café
Tacvba).
In October 2026, the artist released Mosca, a 17-track third studio album inspired by Franz
Kafka’s The Metamorphosis that pushes the boundaries of alternative music, with
collaborations from Nina Minguez, Jean Dawson, Riosse, Eslabón Armado, Julieta
Venegas and Kevin Kaarl. In January 2027, Nsqk will bring Mosca to Mexico City’s
Estadio GNP Seguros for a landmark concert.
The album, which debuted at #2 on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut Global chart, establishes
Nsqk as one of the most restless, forward-thinking, and hard-to-pigeonhole voices in Latin
American music.
What makes Nsqk stand out isn’t just the music—it’s the vision. A marketing major by
training, he is deeply involved in every campaign, every visual, and every detail of how his
world comes to life. Every rollout feels like a carefully built universe, crafted with the same precision he applies in the studio. Recapping numbers, Nsqk has accrued 2+ billion
streams combined.
