    Daydream Machine

    Psychedelic

Daydream Machine began in vocalist/guitarist Jason Adams’s basement, a well-used room that seems like it’s held together by band posters, flyers and stickers—a record of the history of the bands that share the space, the people they’ve toured with and their influences. This record stretches more than a decade as do the musical careers of most of the members. Daydream Machine is made up of the front people of other notable bands. Founding members include singer/guitarist Jason Adams (The Upsidedown); singer/guitarist Matthew Strange (Hawkeye); guitarist/noise Jonathan Allen (Music for Headphones) Bassist Josh Kalberg and singer/flautist Charlotte Engler together form the folk-gaze duo The Whole Wide World. Drummer Jason (Plucky) Anchondo has a long history with West Coast bands including the Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Warlocks, Hawkeye, Spindrift and Miracle Falls.

    Black Ferns

    Alternative Rock

"Seattle's Black Ferns are shining stars of the dark and mysterious underbelly of the city's massive post-punk scene." - Northwest Music Scene

Black Ferns is a three piece alternative rock band from Seattle WA. Its music is diverse in mood and style with themes that explore addiction, love, and an unknown Orwellian future.

Merging strains of New Wave and late 90’s noise pop with an experimental post-punk angle, Black Ferns wrap a haunting presence of cosmic psychedelia around its riff-oriented heavy rock sound.

Black Ferns’ self titled album was produced by Riley Geare, drummer for Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Geare is also featured on drums for the album along with Chris Jordan on bass and Zoran Macesic on vocals and guitar.

    Pop

4 men raised in Snohomish County, Washington, make western music with a love for music from the east. Guitars and other amplified strings put vintage sounds from the world over into familiar yet disconcerting melodies, tightly woven arrangements and syncopated rhythms that combine to function as dance music if one can fight off the psychedelic revery.

  • Black Apples

    Black Apples

    Alternative Rock

The Black Apples, a band that began three years ago and has lived in at least as many cities, have spent their time in Los Angeles building an impressive resumé. They've performed at the Silverlake Jubilee, Sunset Junction and Conjunction Junction music festivals; they've shared the stage with Guitar Wolf, Cap'n Jazz and Mark Sultan (among many others). The band recently headlined an impressive month long residency at LA's popular music venue, The Echo, and toured the American west. They have been featured in major music publications and blogs including, LA Record, Brand X, LA Weekly, OC Weekly, the Deli and Brooklyn Vegan.

The band has its roots in brotherhood—Campbell and Andrew Scarborough grew up in New York in what Campbell describes as a creative household. The brothers honed their skills at various venues in the five boroughs. In 2008, the Black Apples found themselves living together in Fort Collins, Colorado where they began to define their own brand of music, selling out local venues and gaining a loyal local following. Over the summer of 2009, they gathered the band in a rural, lakeside barn to record their self-titled EP as homage to the mountains. Continuing west to Los Angeles, the Black Apples began a grueling stint of playing every venue or party in the Southern California area, often a show every day of the week (including 2am guerrilla shows in Tijuana).
