Description
NORA O'CONNOR
Nora O’Connor is a Chicago-based musician whose vocal talents are the secret weapon behind some of the city’s best performances and recordings. Most recently, Nora teamed up with local label, Pravda Records and released her third solo album, My Heart in October 2022.
O’Connor isn’t new to working solo. She released Cerulean Blue (Uncommon Underground Records) in 1996 and Til the Dawn (Bloodshot Records) in 2004 before she carved out a livelihood making other people’s songs sound better. She has no intention of stopping—in fact 2021 found her back out on the road with Neko Case and The New Pornographers. Nora has toured and recorded with Andrew Bird, The Decemberists, Iron and Wine, Mavis Staples, Robbie Fulks and the list goes on. But her recent solo shows and tours stretched her ambition, moving her to experiment with her voice, to play with new sounds and textures, and to envision a next chapter in her long and dazzling career; one where she takes her rightful seat at the table of the luminaries she has supported for all these years.
SARA JEAN STEVENS
Music for the loners, the hopeless romantics, and dreamers. Songs as dusty and warm as growing up on a horse farm in the flatlands of Illinois.
Sara Jean Stevens has played in other people's bands for a long while, and is finally sharing her own songs with the world. Playing solo, or backed by a band of talented and seasoned musicians, her songs range from haunting and melodic, to boot stompy and energetic.
Sara Jean has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such legends as Rhett Miller, Whitehorse, and Dead Horses to name a few.

Nora O’Connor is a Chicago-based musician whose vocal talents are the secret weapon behind some of the city’s best performances and recordings. She is currently in the studio with The Flat Five (finally!!) recording a new record of songs by Chris Ligon—Look for it in 2015. For much of 2013, O'Connor toured internationally as a singer in Iron and Wine, and she continues to record and perform with longtime collaborator, Andrew Bird. O'Connor also plays bass and sings back-up for Kelly Hogan (supporting Hogan's release "I Like To Keep Myself In Pain" on ANTI- Records) and in 2010, Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy enlisted O'Connor and Hogan as primary vocalists on gospel legend Mavis Staples’ Grammy Award-winning album “You Are Not Alone.” In the studio and on the stage, O'Connor has backed (among others) Neko Case, Jakob Dylan, The New Pornographers, Archer Prewitt, Justin Roberts and Robbie Fulks. Though she may be primarily known for her signature honey-sweet vocals, O'Connor is also revered among her musician peers for her chops and versatility. She's a solid sender on guitar and bass, an enthusiastic and inspired collaborator, and always ninja-nimble and professional to a T -- just a few of the reasons why this lady's phone never stops ringing.
