El Primer Instinto was born in November 2016 in Los Angeles, CA when a group of musician friends and fans of Caifanes decided to form a tribute band to Jaguares and Caifanes in order to perform the songs they had been listening to since childhood. The original lineup consisted of Saúl Hernández on vocals and second guitar (yes, that's how fitting this coincidence is), Paúl Barajas on lead guitar, Efraín Bárcena on drums, and Daniel Gómez on bass. Over the years, the band went through several lineup changes until it solidified in its current form, which is composed of Saúl (the only original founding member), German Briseño on lead guitar, Yaser Bárcena on drums, and Atin García on bass. El Primer Instinto has performed in various states in the United States (IL, CO, IN, WA, AZ, NM, NV, UT, TX, TN), primarily working in a large part of California. They have played at important venues such as festivals, House of Blues, casinos, etc. and they are a tribute band that has direct approval from the members of Caifanes and Jaguares.
