Energetic, attentive, and dynamic define Noah Simpson's trumpet playing. Joined by his band of Portland Natives, they strive to provide a fresh set of ears to Black American music. Cory Limuaco provides consistent, intricate grooves that compliment Milo Fultz’s grooving melodic bass lines. Charles Brown III guides the band harmonically creating a platform for Noah to lead the band with his contemporary approach to the trumpet..

Manhattan School of Music (Jazz percussion; scholarship recipient); Performing with Wynton Marsalis at Brooks Bros. Holiday celebration in NYC.  National Youth Jazz Orchestra/European tour; American Music Project (Thara Memory); Mel Brown Jazz Workshop; Centrum/Port Townsend; Alan Jones Academy of Music; Grant High School.  Studied with Alan Jones, Christopher Brown; Studies with Kendrick Scott.

 

Finn Jones (18) — bass

 

Northwestern University (music major); Mel Brown Jazz Workshop; Port Townsend; Berklee College of Music Jazz Workshop (Perugia, Italy); American Music Project; Alan Jones Academy of Music; Grant High School; Studied with Alan Jones, Jon Lakey, Chuck Israels, John Clayton, Christoph Luty, Jeff Hamilton.  Currently studying jazz bass and film with Carlos Henriguez at JALC.

 

Innovation Project has opened for Ravi Coltrane, Taylor Eigsti and Benny Green, and performed at the Montavilla Jazz Festival and several venues.
