Death Metal/Black Metal
Nixil
Nixil
Death Metal/Black Metal
Born on the cusp of the death of western civilization, Nixil is a manifestation of chaos, rage, strength, and despair, channeled through the art, magick, delirium, and sonic violence of extreme music.
Their influences range from the weirder side of Mayhem to the atmospheric expansiveness of the French avant garde scene, twisted together through occult psychedelia with powerful, driving rhythms in the filthy spirit of crust punk and snaking riffs of moody, progressive melodies. With a sound and vision capturing the fervent essence of the classics while forging something strange and new, Nixil weaves and wanders their tortuous path in their own unique form of surrealist black metal.
Having made their presence known with their acclaimed 2021 independent debut, All Knots Untied, Nixil has steadily garnered a loyal following through extensive touring, bringing them a reputation for a fevered and intoxicating live show. Their 2023 Prosthetic Records release, From the Wound Spilled Forth Fire, saw them further hone their craft through aural and visual presentation both in the studio and on stage. Through the end of 2024, Nixil completed several regional tours including appearances at such acclaimed festivals as Maryland Deathfest, RPM Fest, and Mass Destruction Metal Fest, supported such illustrious acts as Belphegor, Sacramentum, Hulder, Uada, Immolation, and Nunslaughter, and capped off their most recent promotional cycle with a successful nearly month-long tour of the full US. Their third (as yet unnamed) album will be recorded in October of 2025 with J. Robbins of Magpie Cage Studio; ahead of an intended 2026 album release, they have a 10 day tour of the US NE into Canada scheduled for June of 2025, followed by a 12 day tour of the US SE in November of 2025.

Drouth
Drouth
Death Metal/Black Metal
Portland’s Drouth formed in 2012, originally under the name Contempt before changing their moniker following the release of their 2014 EP Skinwalker. The band stirred the local scene with their potent mixture of black metal, death metal, doom, and crust, and went on to release another EP, Vast, Loathsome (2015) and two albums Knives, Labyrinths, Mirrors (2017) and Excerpts From a Dread Liturgy (2020). Their follow up, The Teeth of Time was recorded and mixed with legendary engineer Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Cattle Decapitation) and mastered by Justin Weis (Agalloch, Hammers of Misfortune) and features five tracks of vicious, melodically adventurous black/death metal spread across 40 unrelenting minutes
