 There’s no more elegant or jazzy way to swing in the New Year than a night at Jazz Standard with Regina Carter! A recipient of the MacArthur Foundation “genius” award and a Doris Duke Artist Award, the violinist has been widely hailed both for the mastery of her instrument and her drive to expand its possibilities. Her eclectic discography includes Freefall, a stellar collaboration with pianist Kenny Barron; Paganini: After A Dream, a program of light classics and Latin American compositions performed on the maestro’s own priceless violin; and her shimmering tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, Ella: Accentuate The Positive.
